Nitemind is debuting a brand new series of LED works ON CANAL, referred to as “video paintings” by founder, Michael Potvin. The exhibition will showcase three varying LED panels throughout the space, which can both hang on the walls and freely stand as sculpture. Each work screens a unique and entrancing figural image designed by and featuring Potvin himself. Known for their series of custom-programmed geometric LED sculptures, this body of work marks a new evolution in Potvin’s creative output.
Nitemind is a group of artists, founded by Michael Potvin, using technology and physical space to create immersive and interactive installations. Their work uses light as a medium, including laser beams, video-mapped LED, and software art in combination with ephemeral sculpture and site-specific installations. Nitemind has been instrumental in the development of exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo, Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, Johannes Vogt Gallery, Red Bull Music Academy Festival, Berlin Biennale, Pioneer Works, and Knockdown Center.
