Offline Projects presents an Open Studio with Adrian Yu. Following up from his installation YELLOW (2018) with OnCanal, Adrian opens his studio doors to the public with new work in progress from his solo exhibition Packaged Goods – coming mid-January at OnCanal. His new exhibition will feature three new media installation pieces that explore the historical & sociocultural embodiments of Asian identity, using water, video, and light.
Adrian Yu is an artist & filmmaker interested in identity, technology, and semiotics within new media. His work often explores Asian American identity with site-specific interdisciplinary installations that challenges audiences with immersive, provocative environments. He holds a BA in Cinema Studies from NYU and is also a commercial & music video director. His work has shown with ADO, Gowanus Print Lab, Open House Gallery, and Wallplay and has appeared in Artsy, AMNY, COOLS, Dazed, and Time Out.
Yu is currently the founder and creative director of Offline Projects, a creative studio showcasing progressive underground talent in untraditional spaces.
